Why Haven't There Been More?

This year will be different: the endometriosis is under control. There will be no more curling in a ball and sobbing in pain while missing countless classes. There will be no more excuse making to mask an inability to face failure. There will be no more gloomy hopeless mornings leading to useless days. There WILL be a big huge ball of light filling my rooms with bright light every morning - look at the artificial dawn.
Take that, uterus.

More Days Like These

Wow... how long has it been since I've written about a GOOD day? While in fact I've had many this summer, I just never seem to take the time to sit down and write about them.
To start out, I had just about the most FaNtAsTiC dream I've ever had. The best part was I woke up about 2 hours early so I could keep drifting in and out of sleep - that's when my dreams are strongest. It had adventure, drama, being the lead in an absolutely amazing theater production, danger, romance... *sigh* dreams rock.
So the day started off well, even! Hopped right out of bed and got my but to the bus stop early, and made it to campus with plenty of time. Got my BTC 498 slip filled out and signed by Dr. Powell, and caught Dr. Maynard before Genetics to sign it as well. (Must drop it off tomorrow - Eek!) Found a seat next to Ryan, and behind Meng, Claudia and James - good conversation and I got to savor my Mocha Java and bagel. The genetics lecture was interesting and had lots of things to write down. The ecology lecture was a plethora of information and cool pictures from Ecuador. Most of the class trooped down to the bus stop, Claudia and I chatted and waited for people to figure out which bus was which. Got on and had a spacious seat (school buses got SMALL!). Heiburg forest is a beautiful place outside Tully, nice little walking path and dogs are allowed. We tromped about, took soil samples and recorded the vegetation and elevations, and then started nibbling on all the edible stuff - nothing like a handful of ripe blackberries in afternoon sun. We came back to campus, and I stopped by Archbold to pay for the Aqua Fitness class - so that's all done. Then home to a cool shower and a fresh change of clothes. Dinner and a nice chat with Conor, and then back to school. Parked right outside Baker, then found Claudia and Meng for class. Met a nice chap by the name of Craig who offered to email me my missing lab assignment (which I later found, but he was nice enough to email it to me tonight) and who is also a transfer. Dr. Gitsov is fun to watch, and keeps things simple. Afterwards, I gave Meng a ride home and she invited me in for tea! We spent an hour and a half or so chatting about China, classes, and teas ;) great time! We will hopefully go shopping next week - none of her housemates has a car, and I'd enjoy the company too. Went to Walmart - no aqua shoes, but socks, underwear, and a cheap pair of jeans (w/o holes). And the desk along the windows is a very nice place to work on my Ochem prelab - just the procedure left! Typing gives my fingers a break from handwriting. AND I'm finally talking to Steph! And George! I need to make myself have more days like these.
